New Handbag for Fall

Well, today my husband called me all excited and stuff because he found some fabric.

I was like, "Uhhh...probably not good."

Turns out I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the fabric and even happier once I made a totally awesome bag out of it!!

If you love it be sure to comment so my husband gets brownie points!

It really is awesome! The crushed velvet squares and blue and brown are so hot together this fall!

I don't have much of this fabric so the bag won't last long. If you want one you better get it now!!

Twilight!

Well, the movie twilight comes out tomorrow on DVD. I'm intent on renting it. I just finished the first book in the series. It was okay, I mean I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and twilight is in no way Harry Potter.

As far as I can tell, Twilight is written mostly for teenage girls with rampaging hormones and a taste for bad buys that are really good boys. In my opinion, Harry Potter, appeals to a much wider audience.

Still, I'm looking forward to the movie. And it will be nice to say hello to Cedric Diggory again.

On another note...I have a new bag ready for Easter Bunny fun!

700 people applying for ONE janitorial job!

Has anyone else seen this?

Almost 700 people applying for ONE school janitorial job?

This scares the crap out of me! How much longer will this last and how much worse is it going to get before it gets better?

Stolen Boston Terrier at Portsmouth VA Animal Shelter

A Boston Terrier was picked up running the streets in Portsmouth, VA. Turns out, she was stolen 2 years ago from a pet store in Delaware. Now, she is at the Portsmouth animal shelter awaiting adoption since the pet store no longer wants a two-year-old dog.

Apparently, masses of people were waiting yesterday morning to adopt the dog and screaming at the staff when told she was not yet ready for adoption.

Now, I have a Boston Terrier--that was adopted form a local shelter. She is totally cute and the craziest, bossiest, funniest girl around. I can't imagine living with out her. Still, all these people foaming at the mouth to adopt one little dog? AND angry when they can't adopt her right now? What the heck--it is an ANIMAL SHELTER!!! They probably have tons of dogs that ALL need homes!

Why to things like this rouse people to do good and adopt but they have tunnel vision and will only consider this one specific dog?

I'm embarrassed.

My New Year's resolution was to blog at least 3 times a week this year.

As you can see, today is 2/21/09 and my last post was 9/2/08--obviously I have failed miserably.

Very Embarrassing. No wonder no one looks at my blog!!!

On a better note, I have a new bag listed today!

Craft Show Season Ahead!

Wow, I really need to take the time to blog. I'm just always afraid I might say too much and manage to offend everyone in one foul swoop.

I installed Google Chrome today and I think I like it. In fact, I think I love it. I know I totally love the way they have their tabs set up and the Most Visited page is absolutely fantastic!

Well, craft show season is just around the corner and I am sewing like mad and starting to book shows. Once I get my schedule finalized I will post it on my website.

New Indiana Jones Movie

My husband and I went to see the New Indiana Jones Movie. When was it...Saturday.

First, It was $20.00. $20.00! OMG! When did tickets get to be $10 a piece? I guess the last movie we saw was American Gangster and I don't remember that being 10 damn dollars a piece!

My husband declared it the stupidest thing he's ever spent $20.00 on.

Did I like it or not like it?

Spoilers below so beware!

I laughed in a few places. Ford looks older...duh. But he was still great. And I liked Shia (sp?) as his new sidekick.

I LOVED Cate Blanchett. She was great.

I wasn't too keen on the Alien thing.

The ants gave me nightmares.

And I loved loved loved that Marion and Indy got Married.

It was not at all what I expected. I thought it would be more corny and slapstick-y. It WAS corny and slapstick-y but not as much as I expected. So over all, I was pleasantly surprised.
